We Do Not Believe God Can Satisfy All Of Our Needs

Psalms 23:1. Why do we go lacking? It is because of our unbelief. By our actions it is evident that most of us believe that God cannot provide for all of our needs. In our day-to-day activities we forget that we are just sheep and that we have a good shepherd to take care of all of our needs. We want to think we are young lions that can go it alone without God. We think we know all things and we have the power to do all things. In reality we are in error. God is our Shepherd that provides for all of our needs - if we let Him. (Psalms 23:1, "The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.")

PSALMS 23 BIBLE SCRIPTURE Psalms 23:1, "The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want."

Our Unbelief In God Makes Things Impossible

Matthew 17:20. God has given us power to defeat sin and death. It is our unbelief in God that makes things impossible (Mark 9:23, "Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth."). Even if we know the Word of God, we will still not believe that God is our provider. It is our lack of faith that makes thing impossible. If we would even have "faith as a grain of mustard seed" nothing would be impossible for us (Matthews 17:20, "... Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you").

MATTHEW 17 BIBLE SCRIPTURE Matthew 17:20, "And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you."

Our Unbelief In God Leaves Us Unsatisfied

Proverbs 13:25. We are so quick to look for solutions to our problems that will satisfy our needs, but the solutions do not line up with the Word of God. We have sexual desire so we commit adultery. We have financial needs so we put all of our faith in winning the lottery. Someone hurts us so we think the right thing to do is hurt them back. All of these actions do not line up with the Word of God and will not leave us satisfied. In the end, we will end up lacking when we leave God out of our decision-making. We must seek God's will and wisdom. We must first feed our soul through a relationship with God, then our physical needs will be taken care of in our lives (Proverbs 13:25, "The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his soul: but the belly of the wicked shall want").

PROVERBS 13 BIBLE SCRIPTURE Proverbs 13:25, "The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his soul: but the belly of the wicked shall want."

Our Unbelief In God Brings No Rewards

Hebrews 11:6. We must have faith that God is the source of all our needs and rewards. We must want to please God, have the right motives, and believe in his promises. Many times when things that we desire are within reach we do not rely on God. We will rely too much on our own skills and resources.   We start thinking that it is our wisdom, power, or riches that are supplying all of our needs. We ignore and have unbelief that God gave us wisdom, power, and riches. We must continue to diligently seek him as the provider of our needs (Hebrews 11:6, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."). God desires for us to have the fruit of our labor, but it is Him that provides for us. If we do not believe that He is the Provider, we will soon have a lack that our wisdom, power, and riches cannot satisfy.

HEBREWS 11 BIBLE SCRIPTURE Hebrews 11:6, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.").
