We Have Unbelief In God If We Continue In Sin
John 16:8. If we sin, we have no belief in God's word. We have unbelief in God if we do not believe that Jesus died for our sins and gave us power over sin. We have unbelief if we do not believe that God is a righteous God that will punish sin. Sin is evidence to God that you do not know Him or believe in Him. He will convict us of our sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment (John 16:8, “And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:).
JOHN 16 BIBLE SCRIPTURE John 16:8, “And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:"
We Have Unbelief In God If We Harden Ourselves Against God's Word
2 Kings 17:4. We have to believe all of God's word not just some of it. What many of us do is selectively believe part of God's word. It is easy to believe that God is a god of love and that He is a provider. What is not easy to accept is that God is a righteous God. In His righteousness He cannot tolerate things that are not of Him. This includes all types of sin to include hate, placing other things above Him, envy, lusts of the flesh, pride, and much more. When we are in sin we will harden ourselves against God because we desire to continue in our sin. It is our unbelief in God, the God of righteousness and love, that hardens our heart against God and separates us from God (2 Kings 17:14, “Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the LORD their God.”).
2 KINGS BIBLE SCRIPTURE 2 Kings 17:14, “Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the LORD their God.”
We Will Have Unbelief In God If We Have No Roots In The Word
Luke 8:13. Our unbelief in God is evident by the sin in our lives. Our unbelief can only be reversed by the word of God and our acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Savior. To continue growing in our faith we must continue to learn and be rooted in God's word. If we are not rooted in God's word, we will fall away into sin and unbelief again (Luke 8:13, “They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.”). Only through the daily meditation of God's word can we keep our salvation that Jesus gave to us.
LUKE 8 BIBLE SCRIPTURE Luke 8:13, “They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.”
