Is Blaming Other People a Good Excuse for Denying God?
Exodus 32:23. Whenever we stray from God's purpose in our lives, most of us can come up with a good excuse to justify our actions. The number one excuse is for us to blame it on other people. This is what Aaron did in the Bible when he was confronted by Moses concerning the Golden Calf. Moses questioned Aaron on why he had led the Israelites into sin with the worship of the Golden Calf.
A Born Again Christian Is Reborn in Faith and Kept By Faith
Your faith and hope in God enable you to be a born again Christian. When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior you are doing this in faith of God’s promises. To keep your salvation you must remain and stand in faith everyday. When you are born again you are like a branch that was cut off, but now you are grafted to the tree to live again. As long as you remain in faith you will remain born again in eternal relationship with God (Romans 11:19-20, “Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.
We Have Unbelief In God If We Harden Ourselves Against God's Word
2 Kings 17:4. We have to believe all of God's word not just some of it. What many of us do is selectively believe part of God's word. It is easy to believe that God is a god of love and that He is a provider. What is not easy to accept is that God is a righteous God. In His righteousness He cannot tolerate things that are not of Him. This includes all types of sin to include hate, placing other things above Him, envy, lusts of the flesh, pride, and much more. When we are in sin we will harden ourselves against God because we desire to continue in our sin.
Face Death That Is Eternal
Revelations 21:8. The third type of death is Eternal death. Eternal death is eternal separation from God. If we have not accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we will face death that is eternal on Judgment Day. Eternal death happens because man chooses sin (disobedience to God), and thus, we choose to be separated from God. Separation from God first starts off as spiritual death, but it will eventually turn to eternal death. This is the death we never want to face. We need to believe what the Bible says about eternal death.
Difference Between Lust and Love - Love Is God, Lust Is Not
1 John 4:8. The key difference between lust and love is that love is God and selfish lust is not of God. Like truth, God is the source of all love (1 John 4:8, "He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love"). Anyone without love does not have God in him. Anyone with true "agape" love has God in him. We will only flee the youthful lusts of our flesh when we start to pursue after God's love (2 Timothy 2:22, "Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart").
Definition Of Lust - The Love Of Unrighteousness
2 Thessalonians 2:12. The definition of lust includes loving things that are not of God. You lust when you have pleasure in something that does not line up with the Word of God. When you partake in the pleasures of unrighteousness, you are rejecting God's truth (2 Thessalonians 2:12, "That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.",).
Definition of Lust - The Root Of All Evil
1 Timothy 6:10. The Bible says that the love of money is the root of all evil (1 Timothy 6:10, "For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows"). The Bible focuses on our lust for money as an universal evil because money is where many of us put all our hope for material things. Instead of putting our hope in God for our joy, we put our hope in money for our happiness. This is why the love (lust) for money is so evil.
Definition of Lust
1 Thessalonians 4:5. The simple definition of lust is having a self-absorbed desire for an object, person, or experience. When we are in lust, we place the object of our desire above all things in our lives. From a Christian perspective lust is bad because we are putting the object of our lust above God. When we are in lust, we have no thought of God and do not know Him (1 Thessalonians 4:4-5, "That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:").
Christians Believe In Divine Power
John 20:25. As part of our faith, Christian believe that God is all powerful and can operate outside of our five senses. God is a supernatural God. Some of us such as Thomas, the doubting disciple, must have much evidence of God's divine power. Thomas had to "put his... finger into the print of the nails,..." before he believed (John 20:25 - "The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord.
