1 Corinthians 13:7. The Bible says that true love requires patience. True love is patient because it bears through any circumstances and never changes. Circumstances can change, people can change, but true love never changes. No matter what the adversity, true love can bear it. True love is patient because it has hope that transcends any circumstances. True love can wait on the circumstances because true love will not change. True love believes that the relationship between two persons is stronger than any circumstances. In the Bible 1 Corinthians 13:7 says, “Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things”). True love is able to be patience and endure all things because true love believes and hopes in things greater than the circumstances.

1 Corinthians 13:6. True Love rejoices in things of God. The things of God include love itself, truth, and goodness. God is the only source of all true love, truth, and goodness. Without God there is no true love, truth, or goodness. Someone that is in true love hates sin (disobedience to God), not glad when others are wrong, and always happy by the goodness in others. True love rejoices in God's truth and righteousness (1 Corinthians 13:6, “Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;”). Someone that has true love has hope in something greater than themselves and their circumstances. In its basic form, true love has hope in God and the God that is in the person that is the object of true love. True love has eternal hope and belief in God's love, truth, and goodness.

Song of Solomon 8:7. True love can withstand any adversity and any temptation. True love is a bond between two people that cannot be broken. Many relationships fail in hard times, but true love is there when finances are low, in sickness, when disaster hits, and when there is no reason to hope. True love is not only there in times of hardships, but also in times of temptation. True love will not be tempted by money, beauty or promises. True love cannot be broken by adversity or temptation (Song of Solomon 8:6-7, “Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death ... Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned”).
