Refraining From Sin and Being Good is Good Works in Itself
1 Corinthians 6:19. Good works is also refraining from sin. Jesus walked on this Earth and did not sin. His example of a sinless life proves and inspires us that we do not have to sin. We can do the same “good works” of refraining from sin and inspiring others (1 Corinthians 6:19, “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?”).
Definition of Redemption – Jesus The Only Perfect Ransom and Eternal Sin Offering
Hebrews 9:12. From a Christian perspective the definition of redemption specifies that the only redeemer is Jesus. Only Jesus’ act on the cross, his blood sacrifice, to take the punishment for our sins can lead to our eternal redemption. Jesus is the only one that has the perfect ransom and perfect gift to save us. There is no other way to salvation and redemption. Jesus’ redeeming act on the cross paid the ransom (price) for our sins. Jesus does not need to take on the punishment for our sin anymore. It is finished.
Our Holy Nature Includes God's Special Relationship With Our Body
The Bible says that our physical body is for the Lord (1 Corinthians 6:13, "Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body."). God made us and our body for His purpose and not for our purposes. Yes, God gave us free will which includes deciding what we do with our body, but His desire is for us to use our body in a Godly manner. This is a key part of man being holy. God desires for us to freely love Him and to make our body His holy temple.
Happiness Comes From Fellowship With Like Christians
Happiness comes from being on one accord with fellow Christians. When everyone’s heart is focused on Jesus there is a corporate joy that encourages and delight everyone in the group. Every mundane act becomes joyful when you are in fellowship with like-minded Christians (Acts 2:46, “And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,”).
God Is Our Living Hope
2 Corinthians 6:16. God is the living hope, our only living hope. Separated from the living God, we have no hope. We may trust in our job, our mate, and our own skills, but all of these things will pass away and fall short of the living God. God is a living God. He is alive today and forever more. He is a living hope to all mankind in that he loves us all no matter our faults. He just desires for all of us to love Him.
