Avoid Conflict by Drawing Closer to God

Psalms 31:20. Most of us desire to avoid conflict and strife in our lives. We desire peace. The best way to avoid conflict is to draw closer to God. If you call on Him, He will protect you. No matter what pressures and conflict man can bring upon you, God will protect you. No matter what lies people tell about you, God will protect you. All we need to do is accept His will and stop relying on man or ourselves.

Christian Brethren Are To Spread the Testimony of Jesus

Revelation 19:10. Part of being a Christian brethren is to spread the testimony of Jesus Christ. In the book of Revelation an angel tells John (the author of Revelation) that he is a “ fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus”. All of us that call ourselves Christian brethren have the responsibility to spread the testimony of Jesus Christ, the Good News. We may think that we are not as well equipped as our local Pastor or a television evangelist, but God has given us all special talents and gifts to spread the Gospel.

The Bible Says That Self-Control Starts With the Heart

Matthew 15:18. The Bible says that self-control starts with the heart. Matthew 15:18-20 says, "Those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: These are the things which defile a man...". We can come up with all types of excuses why we do bad things, but it all comes down to what is inside of us. If heart our is not right, evil thoughts will proceed out of it.

God Help Us by Giving Us Wisdom

Luke 21:15. Many people seek wisdom, but wisdom only comes from God because God is truth. It amazes me how wise the disciples were after Jesus left them and the Holy Ghost came into their lives. Not much more than forty days after Peter denied Jesus at His crucifixion, Peter had the knowledge and wisdom to bring over 3,000 souls to Christ. God can help us to be wise if we will become willing vessels and yield to Him.

Your Mouth Makes You A Fool When You Are Full Of Yourself

Proverbs 14:3. God says that you are a fool when you are full of pride (Proverbs 14:3, “In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them. Your mouth causes your downfall.”). You are basically deceiving yourself thinking that you are above God. God does not suffer fools or evil people gladly. Through your boasting, you reveal to God and man what is in your heart. Your mouth reveals that you believe you are above God. By boasting of yourself, you do not acknowledge Him. How can anyone say they are greater than their Creator?

Definition of Deception – Deception Leads Us Away From God

Proverbs 14:25. A Christian aspect of the definition of deception is that the act of deception leads us away from God. When we are being untruthful to ourselves or others, we are separated from God. Deception involves being a false witness and to be a false witness is a sin. God cannot be in the presence of sin. Lies and deceptions lead us away from God. Truth on the other hand delivers us from sin and brings us back into harmony with God (Proverbs 14:25, “A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness speaketh lies”).
