Genesis 3:12. It is part of our human nature to come up with a good excuse when we are accused of something. The problem with a good excuse is that it does not cover up our wrong-doing when we have sinned against God. Humans started giving excuses to God from the beginning in the Garden of Eden. In Genesis 3:11, God asked Adam what had happened to him because now Adam was ashamed before God (naked). God knew that Adam and Eve had eaten the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. God had previously told them not to eat of the Tree of Knowledge.

Ezekiel 16:15. Selfishness is infectious. If one person is selfish and prideful, it is likely that they will incite others to be prideful and selfish. It one person boasts, another will be compelled to boast and tell tall tales. If one person is selfish, he will then entice others to follow his path. This is like what happens with the drug addicts. They start taking drugs, and then they will get their friends hooked on drugs. This is what happens with adultery.

Romans 8:11. The Bible says that we can have the same spirit in us as the Spirit of Him that raised Jesus from the dead (Romans 8:11, "But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you"). This is another assurance for Christians that explicitly tells us that we will have eternal life. We will go through the same resurrection as Jesus Christ. The spirit of God that is in all Christians will defeat death.

Acts 20:24. Another joy to being a Christian is the opportunity to testify the truth of God. It is the greatest joy when you are able to deliver God's word to another. Testifying of God's word is not just for preachers, but for any Christian. Anytime we can share God's truth with another human being, it is a joyous experience.
