Understanding Prophecy
Bible Summary. Only if you love God with all your heart, body, and soul, will you understand true prophecy. This is what happened with Jacob's relationship with Laban. Laban, Jacob's uncle and father-in-law, was always trying to get the better end of the deal with his dealings with Jacob. This first happened when Jacob negotiated a marriage contract for Rachel, but Laban tricked Jacob into marrying Leah, his oldest daughter. Due to this trickery, Jacob ended up working for Laban for seven additional years in order to marry Rachel.
