Newness

A Born Again Christian Is Reborn As Incorruptible

1 Peter 1:23. A born again Christian is born of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. When we first accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, God’s Holy Spirit enters us. When we are born again we now have God’s incorruptible seed in us. If we will completely surrender to God everyday, God’s word will live and abide in us forever (1 Peter 1:23, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever”).

A Born Again Christian Is A New Man, Righteousness and Holy

Ephesians 4:24. As a new man, a born again Christian is created in righteousness and holiness. Through Christ the new man now has relationship with God. Jesus has taken on the punishment for our sins so that we can renew our relationship with God that was lost with Adam and Eve. Being in relationship with God also means that we are now in righteousness and set aside for Him only in holiness (Ephesians 4:24, “And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness“).

A Born Again Christian is a New Man In the Image of Christ

Colossians 3:10. Everyday a born again Christian must take on the mind of Christ and surrender completely to God. Everyday he uses the Bible and Jesus’ example to become more like Christ. As a new man, a born again Christian stays in continue relationship and knowledge of God (Colossians 3:10, “And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:”).

A Born Again Christian is a New Man In Christ

2 Corinthians 5:17. To be a born again Christian you need to have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior. When you are in Jesus you are a new creature. You are no longer a slave of sin doing things the way you have done things in the past. With Christ, you now do things that conform to His lordship and you are no longer controlled by your sin nature. You are a new creature (2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new”).

Our New Man Is Formed in Righteousness, A Christian Value

Ephesians 4:24. When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior we are a new man. We began to take on Christian values because our new man is formed out of God's righteousness. Righteousness as a Christian value means that we are in right standing with God because of Jesus' act of salvation. Our relationships with people and God changes because of our new Christian values such as righteousness. Righteousness becomes precious to us as our love of God grows and our desire to strengthen our relationship with God.

Our Salvation Comes Through Our Christian Belief

1 Peter 1:5. Our ultimate salvation of eternal life can only come through the power of God. Our Christian belief must be totally based on the power of God in order to receive eternal life (1 Peter 1:5, "Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time). If we rely on the things that we sense with our five senses, we are lost. We must rely on the power of God that is revealed to us through the Bible and His son, Jesus Christ. Only the power of God defeats the power of sin and death.
