Romans 8:4. Romans chapter 8 describes to us how the Holy Spirit equips us for spiritual warfare. The Holy Ghost guides us in how to conduct spiritual warfare. By us fully surrendering to the Spirit of God in us, we can be fully equipped and led by the Spirit. By us being spiritually minded we can conduct spiritual warfare and take hold of the mind of Christ. The mind of Christ is the objective of spiritual warfare. The Holy Spirit equips us to conduct spiritual warfare in order to take on the mind of Christ. Through the Holy Spirit life and peace results rather than sin and death (Romans 8:5-6, "For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace").

ROMANS 8 BIBLE SCRIPTURE Romans 8:4, "That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."

Romans 8:9. When you are sinning and in the flesh, the Spirit of God is not in you. If you are in the flesh, you do not have the capability to be successful in spiritual warfare. Only when the Spirit of God is in you can you be equipped to do Spiritual battle. Spiritual warfare is taking on the mind of Christ both in you and others. How can you hope to win this spiritual battle unless the Spirit of God dwells in you? Without Christ and the Holy Spirit, you have laid open your spiritual defenses to be ravaged by sin. There is no righteousness in you to conduct spiritual warfare when you have let the Holy Spirit depart because of your sin (Romans 8:9-10, "But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness").

ROMANS 8 BIBLE SCRIPTURE Romans 8:9, "But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his."

Romans 8:13 Only through the Holy Spirit can we kill the deeds of the flesh and take on the mind of Christ. The Holy Spirit gives us spiritual life eternally. When the Holy Spirit is in us we no longer let Satan's deception defeat us by living after the flesh. We can focus on taking on the mind of Christ as the Holy Spirit in us kills the flesh. We can win the spiritual battles of taking on the mind of Christ and achieve eternal life only with the Holy Spirit in us. (Romans 8:11-13, "But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live").

Romans 8:16. When the Holy Spirit is in us there is no reason to fear no matter what the circumstances. Fear of our circumstances can inhibit us in spiritual warfare to take on the mind of Christ. The spirit of fear puts us in bondage, but the Holy Ghost reminds us and encourages us that we no longer need to be bound in fear. With the Holy Spirit in us we have received the Spirit of adoption. Spiritually we are now a child of God and a brother of Jesus (Romans 8:14-16, "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:")
