Rely on God, A Christian Value
Matthew 6:33. A core Christian value is for us to rely on God to answer all of our needs. He knows better than us what we need and do not need. How many times have you bought a new gadget or appliance for the home and then found out that you did not need it? How many times have you worried yourself sick about something and then it never happened?
God Will Not Have a Relationship With Us Unless We Confess Sins
Hosea 5:15. Whether we know it or not, we are suppose to be in a loving relationship with God. When we are not, we have broken our relationship with Him. Our disobedience to God, our creator, is a sin. Sin started with Adam, our forefather, and continues with us today. Jesus is the answer for us to restore our relationship with God, but first we must confess our sins.
You Will Lack When You Rely On Yourself Without the Truth of God
Psalms 34:10. Why do people with talents, resources, and good gifts go lacking? It is because they are going it alone without the truth of God. They are like young lions that only rely on themselves, but soon go hungry (Psalms 34:10, "The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing. Proverbs"). If you really believe in God and understand who He is, why would you not seek His advise in everything that you do?
Our Unbelief In God Brings No Rewards
Hebrews 11:6. We must have faith that God is the source of all our needs and rewards. We must want to please God, have the right motives, and believe in his promises. Many times when things that we desire are within reach we do not rely on God. We will rely too much on our own skills and resources. We start thinking that it is our wisdom, power, or riches that are supplying all of our needs. We ignore and have unbelief that God gave us wisdom, power, and riches.
Seeking God Through Prayer Is Spiritual Warfare
2 Chronicles 7:14. Once we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, prayer is the primary way for us to maintain the mind of Christ. Prayer is a demonstration of our faith in God and is the main way for us to conduct spiritual warfare. In order to conduct spiritual warfare we place our focus on God and not His enemies.
Intercession Causes God's Promises to Be Realized in Spiritual Warfare
Isaiah 62:7. Intercession is where we pray to God for the sake of another person or for a corporate cause. Many of the best prayers and intercessory prayers are when we remind God of His promises. God delights in us reminding Him of His promises. It shows that we have faith in Him and His promises. When we pray in this manner for another or for a corporate cause, our intercessory prayer is spiritual warfare. In intercessory prayer we are conquerors by bringing God closer to ourselves, and to others.
In Spiritual Warfare Yield to God and You Will be Healed
Exodus 15:26. Exodus 15:26, says "And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee". Basically, God is saying that if you will yield completely to Him, you will be healed. He is the source of our healing and our well-being. Through spiritual warfare we line up with God by taking on the mind of Christ.
The Secret of Happiness Is To Seek God With Your Whole Heart
God desires for us to be fully committed to Him in all things and at all times. That is the secret of happiness. We are blessed when we are fully committed to God’s commandments. God’s commandments boil down to loving God with your whole heart, and loving your neighbor as yourself. We are blessed when we seek God with our whole heart. We do not look back, but continually and fully seek God to discover God’s truth and love (Psalms 119:2 “Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart”).
PSALMS 119 BIBLE SCRIPTURE Psalms 119:2 “Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart”
Do Not Rely On God And Go Hungry Like The Young Lions. Raah!
Psalms 34:10. Who is better equipped to take on the challenges of this world? A sheep with a good shepherd? Baah! Or a young lion?
Our Hatred Of God Is Rooted In Our Sin Nature
Proverbs 29:10. From God's perspective we either love Him or hate Him. When we put things above God and do things that displease Him, our sin nature is telling God we hate Him and hate anything that is of His righteous. Our hating of God's righteousness is most obvious when righteousness gets in the way of us enjoying our sin.
