If you want to be happy, be in fellowship with God. If we are in fellowship with God at all times, we cannot be anything else but joyous. When we are in fellowship with God every little thing you do is filled with joy (Ecclesiastes 9:7, “Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God now accepteth thy works”).

Romans 14:17. Having the Holy Ghost in our lives is the secret of happiness. The Holy Ghost provides us direction and encouragement to be in right standing with God. Without the Holy Ghost in our lives we are left to our own devices that result in sin and ultimately death. For us that have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we have the spirit of God in us. The Holy Ghost in us helps us to stay in right standing with God. By being in right standing with God (to be righteous) we can have peace and joy in our lives (Romans 14:17, “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost”).

God desires for us to be fully committed to Him in all things and at all times. That is the secret of happiness. We are blessed when we are fully committed to God’s commandments. God’s commandments boil down to loving God with your whole heart, and loving your neighbor as yourself.  We are blessed when we seek God with our whole heart. We do not look back, but continually and fully seek God to discover God’s truth and love (Psalms 119:2 “Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart”).

2 Corinthians 1:12. The secret of happiness is when our conscience lines up with God, and we act on that Godly conscience. Because our conscience leads us in our day-to-day activities, our conscience is key for us to have God’s eternal joy.  By having a Godly conscience we can act Godly in an ungodly world. Our joy is full because of our close relationship with God and through our expression of God’s love and truth to our fellow mankind (2 Corinthians 1:12, “For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward”).
