Righteousness
Righteousness, A Religious Value That Results in Eternal Life
Romans 8:10. Righteousness is a religious value we should all aspire to because it will bring us eternal life with God. From a Christian perspective, righteousness means to be in right standing with God. Because we are all born in sin (disobedience to God), the only way we can be in right standing with God is through Jesus. By accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we do not need to sin any more. Through Jesus Christ we can live in right standing with God. Though Jesus Christ we are able to hold the religious value of righteousness in our heart.
How to Add Value – Rightly Measure the Value You Add
Proverbs 16:11. The idea of “Value” is a very important concept in the Bible. There are many examples in the Bible where it tells us how to add value in relationships and business transactions. One example is the concept of providing fair market value at a fair price. Proverbs 16:11 says, “A just weight and balance are the Lord's ...”. In ancient times, weights and balances were used to value the costs of goods and to weigh the money used to pay for a product. In those days, the same type of coin could have different sizes and weights.
Rely on God, A Christian Value
Matthew 6:33. A core Christian value is for us to rely on God to answer all of our needs. He knows better than us what we need and do not need. How many times have you bought a new gadget or appliance for the home and then found out that you did not need it? How many times have you worried yourself sick about something and then it never happened?
Learning Patience Requires Righteousness, Faith, and Meekness
1 Timothy 6:11. Patience is not learned in a vacuum. People seek to learn patience because they are trying to change the way they live. They are aspiring to have their actions line up with their purpose. They are trying to flee or change the way they live. From a Christian perspective, patience is a virtue that only comes with acquiring other virtues such as righteousness, godliness, faith, love, and meekness (1 Timothy 6:11-12, “But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
The Best Type of Government is Led by Someone Righteous
Proverbs 16:12. The best type of government is not so much what type of Government, but how Godly is the person or persons that are leading the government. God is the source of all power here on Earth and in Heaven. It is He that establishes and authorizes governments to govern people. God establishes all governments in His righteousness.
Good Excuses For Denying God – God is Not Convenient
Acts 24:25. Many of us have good excuses for not fulfilling God's purpose in our lives. For us that our ambitious or prosperous the best excuse is that doing God's purpose in our lives is not convenient. This is what happened when Felix, the Roman Governor, met with the Apostle Paul and received God's Word. Felix listened to Paul's words concerning righteousness, temperance, and the judgment to come, but Felix did not act on God's Word.
Definition of Perfection - Only God is Perfect
Deuteronomy 32:4. The definition of perfection includes "Being without defect or blemish: a perfect specimen". This definition of perfection defines God as well as Jesus who as a God-man walked on this Earth to show us His perfection. God is our Rock that provides us the perfect foundation of what is right and wrong. He is the standard of perfection and the source of truth and righteousness (Deuteronomy 32:4, "He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he").
God's Divine Nature Is Righteous
Psalms 33:5. God is the source of all good and truth in the world. He is right in all things. He is righteous. All righteousness comes from him. The Bible is His message and it tells us of God's righteousness. Because of God's divine nature, He can only be righteous. Because of His righteous nature, He can only love righteousness. Because of God's divine nature, He can only do things in truth and righteousness (Psalms 33:4-5, "For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.
Discovering God’s Divine Nature
1 John 4:17, God’s nature can be summed up in two words: love and righteousness. As followers of Jesus, we are here to discover God's love and righteousness. We discover God through prayer, fasting, study, and living a life in fellowship with God. Through us seeking God continuously, His righteousness and love is made perfect in us.
Free Will - Definition Of Human Nature
Romans 6:16. God gave us free will; He gave us choice. Free will is a key aspect of the definition of human nature. We were made in His image and God gave us free will in order for us to freely love Him and worship Him. Worshiping God is our purpose and God gave us free will in order for us to fulfill our purpose.
