Christian Virtues – Called To Godly Excellence
2 Peter 1:3. God calls all of us to have Christian virtues. Whether you know it or not, God has called all of us to glory and virtue. Christian virtues can be described as having a godly excellence, a godly goodness, or a godly righteousness. God's calling came to us through Jesus Christ. Good Excuses To Be Disobedient – Say This is Not God's Way
2 Kings 5:11. It is in our human nature to come up with good excuses not to obey God. One of the most subtle excuses we can give when God calls us is to say that “this is not God's way”. The Bible has many examples where people resisted God's calling because they had preconceived ideas about God. Naaman, a mighty General in the Syrian Army, almost missed God's blessing because of his preconceived ideas about God. In this example, Naaman desired to be cured of leprosy and Elisha, a man of God, gave Naaman instruction via way of a messenger on how to be cured of leprosy.
Love Ones - Trust Them As Well As We Love Them?
Isaiah 30:3. It is easy to think that love and trust go together, but the Bible teach us not to trust man or the things of this world. The only one we should both love and trust is God. We can love our fellow man, but we should only put our total trust and faith in God. When we put our faith and trust in someone or something above God, we are wrong. We must trust God more than our closest love ones. Putting our trust in someone other than God will eventually put us to shame.
About Freedom – God Tells Us To Submit To Government
Romans 13:1. All of us are concerned about our freedom and rights, but we still need to submit to the power of the Government here on Earth. We may not always agree with our Government, but God has ordained Governments to have power and authority over its citizens. If we unlawfully resist a Government that we think is wrong, we are actually resisting God. (Romans 13:1-2, “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
Continuing Grace comes from us being weak so that the power of Christ Can Rest in Us
2 Corinthians 12:9. God’s grace comes to us on His terms. We cannot bargain with Him and our flesh will at many times be at odds with God’s purpose in our lives. To receive God’s continuing grace we can only surrender completely to our Lord Jesus Christ. We can ask God for mercy, but He will not always take away our infirmities. Like the Apostle Paul, we must learn to glory in our weakness so that the power of God can be magnified in our lives (2 Corinthians 12:8-9, “For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
The Way To Happiness Is Being Filled With Hope Everyday
Romans 15:13. Having hope is a wondrous thing that is a necessity on your way to happiness. Without hope most things cannot be accomplished. Hope gives you energy and motivation to reach your goal. If you had no hope that you will be paid on your job, would you even go to work?
Through Spiritual Warfare All Can Be Healed
Acts 10:38. The Holy Ghost gives us the power to heal. When the Holy Ghost is in us we have God in us. His power can be used in spiritual warfare to heal people. People that are in need of physical healing are oppressed by the devil or other spiritual power. Through our sinful and imperfect nature the devil can oppress us with every know disease and infirmity.
A Self-Centered Person Glories In Himself And Not In God
Jeremiah 9:23. When a person is centered only on themselves they do not realize that God is in control and that they need to be centered on God. God created this world, not us. We have forgotten God when we glory in our own wisdom, might, and riches. We deceive ourselves when we think we can rely on ourselves. God desires for us to be wise, to be mighty, and to be rich, but He demands that we glorieth in Him (Jeremiah 9:23). We are in His world that He created. We were created to glorify God in every situations and never put ourselves above God.
The Resurrection Spirit Is Powerful
Ezekiel 37:9. The spirit of the resurrection is a powerful force. No other force can bring something that is dead to life. Only God can restore life from something that is dead. This makes the spirit of the resurrection the most powerful force in the world. God wants us to know that He is all powerful and this powerful resurrection spirit comes from Him.
Jesus Delivers Us From The Power Of Sin And Death
Colossians 1:13. If we are without God, the power of sin and death will rule over our lives. Only Jesus can deliver us from the power of darkness that is in this world. Jesus demonstrated through His resurrection that He has absolute power over sin and death. Through our faith and relationship with Jesus Christ, we are transformed from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light (Colossians 1:13, "Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son").
