Christians Have A Higher Inspiration to Have Self-Control
1 Corinthians 9:25. Christians have a higher inspiration to have self-control than a Olympic athlete. An Olympic athlete is inspired by the opportunity to win a gold medal. Many Olympic athletes train for the Olympics for years and they have great self-control and discipline. On the other hand, Christians have a greater inspiration to obtain and maintain self-control and not to sin.
Secret Knowledge is Truth That God Has Not Revealed to Mankind
Deuteronomy 29:29. Secret knowledge is the providence of God. Organizations that profess to have secret knowledge or truth do not line up with the world of God. God is the source of all knowledge, both revealed knowledge and secret knowledge. When God reveals secret knowledge to a person or group of people, this truth is suppose to be revealed to all of mankind. This is what happened in the Old Testament. God would reveal secret knowledge to a prophet and it was the prophet's purpose to reveal this truth to everyone.
The Secret Knowledge, The Mystery Revealed in the Person of Jesus Christ
Romans 16:26. God is the source of all knowledge, both revealed and secret knowledge. God is who decides what knowledge is revealed to mankind and what knowledge is kept secret. This is what happened almost 2,000 years ago when God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to reveal the greatest mystery to mankind. This mystery was (is) Jesus Christ and His salvation plan for mankind. God in His timing and purpose revealed this great mystery to mankind in the form of Jesus Christ.
Nature versus Nurture – Many Things May Influence Our Actions, But God Determines What Is Right and Wrong
Deuteronomy 29:29. God is the great revealer. He is the holder of all things that are true. Nature or our environment does not determine what is true or what is right. When we get caught up in the question of nature vs nurture, we are basically assuming that our genes or our environment are controlling our actions. This also leads to us thinking that our genes or our environment are the source of right and wrong. This line of thinking is erroneous because God is the holder of truth and has control of everything.
Saving Grace Comes From Our Faith in Jesus Christ
Romans 1:5. Faith is the cornerstone to receiving God’s saving grace. Our faith and love of Jesus Christ brings God’s grace. Our faith and love in Jesus Christ also brings our willing obedience to serve God. God’s unmerited love, as expressed through Jesus Christ, births a faith in us that enables us to receive God’s saving grace.
The Secret of Happiness Is To Seek God With Your Whole Heart
God desires for us to be fully committed to Him in all things and at all times. That is the secret of happiness. We are blessed when we are fully committed to God’s commandments. God’s commandments boil down to loving God with your whole heart, and loving your neighbor as yourself. We are blessed when we seek God with our whole heart. We do not look back, but continually and fully seek God to discover God’s truth and love (Psalms 119:2 “Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart”).
PSALMS 119 BIBLE SCRIPTURE Psalms 119:2 “Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart”
Respect For Parents
Ephesians 6:1. God holds the parent-child relationship as special. In the Bible our relationship with God is continually compared with a parent-child relationship. God tells us in the ten commandments to obey and have respect for parents. He says that to obey our parents is right (Ephesians 6:1, "Children, obey your parents in the Lord:"). This does not mean that we only obey our parents when we agree with them or fully understand why they are telling us to do something. We must obey them at all times. We must also honor and have respect for parents.
There Are Only Two Choices In Life
Most of us think we have many choices in life, but from God's perspective we only have two. These personal choices include serving God or serving sin. One path is obedience unto righteousness to eternal life. The other path is sin unto death (Romans 6:16, "Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?").
Christian Spiritual Warfare: Put on the Mind of Christ Versus Following Our Imagination
2 Corinthians 10:5. In warfare, military objectives usually focus on the destruction of an enemy or the gaining of a territory. The objective of Christian spiritual warfare is territorial in nature. The territory in this case is the human mind.
