The New Man Replaces Selfishness With Good Works

Our New Man Is Created In Righteousness

Ephesians 2:24. When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior we are a new man. Our purpose changes because our new man was created out of righteousness. Our relationships with people and God changes. As a new man we are now set-aside for God to be holy and to do good works (Ephesians 2:24, “And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness“).

EPHESIANS 2 BIBLE SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 2:24, “And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.“

A New Man Follows God and Does Not Follow His Own Way

Romans 3:12. Thanks to Jesus Christ’s work on the cross, we have a choice between being the old man separated from God or to be a new man in harmony with God. The new man is in continual relationship with God. The new man has God in him. The old man is separated from God and cannot but go a separate path from God. The old man chooses sin and is in fellowship with the devil, the flesh, and the world. Separated from God, the old man cannot do good (Romans 3:12, “They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one”).

ROMANS 3 BIBLE SCRIPTURE: Romans 3:12, “They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.”

A New Man Shows He Knows God By Doing Good Works

Titus 1:16. A new man knows God and is in constant fellowship with God. The evidence that the new man loves God is his good works. The new man does things that are in fellowship with God such as praying, helping the poor, loving his fellow man, and being patient with people. By good works the new man proves his love of God. The old man is just the opposite. He may say he knows God, but his works provides evidence that he is out of fellowship with God. He is disobedient of God and none of his works are good (Titus 1:16, “They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate”).

BIBLE SCRIPTURE: Titus 1:16, “They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.”
