Bible Summary. The source of most wisdom scriptures in the Bible come from King Solomon. By the time Solomon reached the age of twenty, the people of Israel were in awe of his wisdom. The depth and breath of Solomon’s wisdom scriptures is evident that his wisdom was special and came directly from God.

1st Kings 4:34. The wisdom scriptures of Solomon have the uncanny ability to be relevant to all that hear or read them. This is compelling evidence in itself that King Solomon received his wisdom directly from God.

1st Kings 4:32. King Solomon is the source of thousands of wisdom scriptures from the Bible (1st Kings 4:32, “And he spake three thousand proverbs: and his songs were a thousand and five.”). Solomon’s wisdom is special in that God specifically gave Solomon the gift of wisdom (1st Kings 3:12).

1st Kings 3:28. Scriptures concerning Solomon’s wisdom are numerous. Proverbs and Ecclesiastes contain many wisdom scriptures from Solomon but there are many other books of the Bible that also contain the wisdom of Solomon. The book of 1st Kings provides a historical account of how God granted Solomon’s request for wisdom and how Solomon used wisdom for God’s glory.

A wise person uses his resources diligently and stores up resources purposely for the future. Reading and inquiring of the Bible will make you a wise person.

2nd Timothy 3:15. Reading and inquiring of the Bible will make you a wise person. The Bible is the inspired word of God. God provided the Bible as an instruction manual on what is true, what is not true, what is good, and what is evil. God is the source of all knowledge. Is He not our creator - all present, all powerful, and all knowledgeable?

Proverbs 21:20. A wise person uses his resources diligently and stores up resources purposely for the future. A wise person knows that God has blessed them with material goods for God’s purpose. A wise person seeks God’s purpose on how best to spent money and consume resources.

Proverbs 13:20. Wise persons are not just born wise. Wisdom comes from the company you keep and the experiences that you encounter in life. From a Christian perspective, all wisdom and knowledge comes from God, and God desires to make all of us wise persons. Through Christ, God offers us an eternal relationship with Him for those of us who accept His wisdom and purpose.

Proverbs 1:7. A wise person has a reverence of God. A wise person puts God above all persons, things, and ideas. The fear of God is the beginning and is the way to truth and knowledge. God is our creator and is the source of all knowledge and truth.

Proverbs 14:29. Anger is not necessarily bad, but it does need to be controlled. Proverbs 14:29 says, “He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.” Whenever we get angry at someone or something, we need to look at the source of the anger.

Proverbs 26:16. Lazy people do not seek God for direction in their lives, nor do they seek advice from others. Lazy people think that they have all the answers. Proverbs 26:16 says, "The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit than seven men that can render reason".

Matthew 25:4. The Bible parable of the Ten Virgins teaches us that the diligent are wise. In this parable the ten virgins were given the task of greeting the bridegroom as he arrived to the wedding late at night. To do this the virgins were to have lamps to light the way for the bridegroom. All of the ten virgins had lamps, but five were wise and five were foolish.

Proverbs 6:6. A consumer society encourage people to maximize their time consuming stuff. This stuff includes fast food, video games, TV, vacations, recreational drugs, recreational sex, and so on. All this consumption leaves little time for work, to help people, to encourage people, to add value to society, and no time for developing a relationship with God.

Proverbs 29:15. It is natural for a mother’s love to be forgiving and not judging. At the same time a mother’s love should not just accept anything that a son or daughter does as OK. A mother must provide correction to her children when they are wrong. She still loves them, but she does have a responsibility to nurture and reproof a child.
