Hope

Hope, A Christian Value

Romans 8:24. Hope is a core Christian value. Hope is defined as “to believe, desire, or trust”. A Christian's hope is to believe the promises of Jesus Christ that He can redeem mankind and give us eternal life. All we have to do is accept His offer for Him to be our Lord and Savior. Once we accept Jesus, we must then truly make Him Lord of our lives by putting all our hope in Him. Our continuing hope in Jesus is critical to our eternal salvation. Hope enables us to persevere and patiently wait on Jesus' promises of eternal life.

The Seven Stages of Christian Growth

Instructions for Following the Seven Stages of Christian Growth

2 Peter 1:5-7 provides instruction on the seven stages of Christian growth. The stages of Christian growth are:

1. Virtue - called to moral excellence, goodness, and righteousness

2. Knowledge - discover the knowledge of God

3. Temperance - self-control to obtain an incorruptible crown

Love is the Greatest of the Christian Virtues

1 Corinthians 13:13. Christian theologians have traditionally identified faith, hope, and charity (love) as the three Christian virtues (Three Theological Virtues). Of the three Christian virtues, love is the greatest (1 Corinthians 13:13, “1 Corinthians 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity”). Faith, hope, and love are key Christian virtues today as they have been throughout the history of Christianity. Christian virtue faith means steadfastness in belief that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Saviour.

The Power Of Faith In Jesus Christ

Hebrews 11:1. Jesus came on this earth to save us from Hell and eternal separation from God. Jesus showed us how to live. He showed us that mankind can defeat death, and He gave us the plan of salvation. All we have to do is believe in Him that Jesus is the one way to salvation. This is challenging for most of us because what Jesus has done defies our five senses. He performed miracles. He told us He was the son of God. He defeated death.

Faith and Christianity

What is Christian faith? Why is faith so important? How do you get faith?

These questions are key for understanding Christianity, for new believers as well as all Christians. Christianity and faith go hand in hand. No one can call themselves a Christian without faith in Jesus Christ.

Key Bible Scripture

Hebrews 11:1, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Definition of Deception – Hope In Temporary Things and Not In Things Eternal

Job 27:8. Another aspect of the definition of deception is that it is only temporary. A deception is only a deception until it is found out. It is temporary. On the other hand, truth is eternal. Many of us use deception to fool others as well as ourselves. Most of us put our hope in material things such as money, other people, or our own abilities. The promises of material things as well as actual material things are only temporary and are not eternal. We either fool ourselves or others when we put our hope in material things, imagined or not.
