What is the Difference Between Guilt and Shame?
Bible Summary. Guilt is godly sorrow that results in repentance and ultimately salvation. Shame on the other hand is where you may feel bad because it is not socially accepted or someone you respected has found you “wrong”.
Overcoming Guilt
Bible Summary. When you are in sin you can hide your sin from others, but you cannot hide it from God. You cannot overcome your guilt by hiding your sin from God. To overcome guilt you must first be conscience of your sin, then confess your sins to God, and lastly provide a sin offering to God.
The Wrong Way to Overcome Guilt
Genesis 3:10. Guilt can be a heavy burden, but there is a right way and a wrong way to overcome guilt. Humans have experienced guilt since the Garden of Eden. The way that Adam and Eve tried to address their guilt is an example of a wrong way to overcome guilt. Adam and Eve experience guilt because they had disobeyed God by eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge.
The Difference Between Guilt and Shame
2 Corinthians 7:10. The Apostle Paul advises us on what the difference is between guilt and shame in his second letter to the Corinthians. In 2 Corinthians 7:9-10, Paul refers to the harshness of his first letter to the Corinthians where he had advised them that they needed to change their ways as Christians.
What Does the Bible Say About Shame and Honor?
Bible Summary. From a Christian perspective, it is better to be shamed by man that to be out of step with God. Jesus was beaten, whipped, humiliated, shamed, and eventually killed on the cross, but he as all Christians are honored by God. Sometimes God uses shame to chastise us in order for us to come into a place of honor with Him.

God is My Judge Who Will Judge the Righteous and the Wicked
Ecclesiastes 3:17. In the book Ecclesiastes, Solomon said to himself that God is my judge; He is everyone's judge, both the righteous and the wicked (Ecclesiastes 3:17, "I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work". In God's timing all of us will be judged for our disobedient acts against God.

Romans 1:20. Many people by their words and actions deny that there is a God. Denying God is a fruitless course of action. There is too much evidence in the world, to include the actual creation of world, to deny and ask is there a God.
