Fear Nothing But God

Fear Only God

All of us have a tendency to fear things, worry over things, and to be anxious over the future. The Bible says for us not to be fearful of things "...which kill the body..." but be more fearful of God who can "...destroy both soul and body in hell" (Matthew 10:28). God is a jealous God. If you are being fearful of things not of God, you are telling God that these things are more awesome and powerful than He is in protecting you. Fear nothing, but God.

BIBLE SCRIPTURE: Matthew 10:28, "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."

Our Imagination Produces Fear

Genesis 6:5. Our imagination among other things allows fear, worry, phobias, and anxiety to rule our lives. It can be prudent to be fearful of snakes, dogs, or life-threatening situations, but we should not put this fear above God. If we have an uncontrollable phobia against dogs or worms, we are letting our imagination get away with us and breaking fellowship with God. Without a relationship with God our imagination is only "...evil continually"(Genesis 6:5, "And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually."). Do not let your imagination get away with you. Imagination without a relationship with God results only in evil. You fear, you hate, you desire what is not yours. Your thoughts become evil and further separate yourself from God.

GENESIS 6 BIBLE SCRIPTURE: Genesis 6:5, "And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually."

Fear Nothing Because You Have God's Promises

When we have a relationship with God, we can rely on His promises. We can be strong and of good courage. We can fear nothing because God is with us, He will not fail us, nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6, "Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee").

BIBLE SCRIPTURE: Deuteronomy 31:6, "Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee."
