Overcoming Temptation Through Obedience and Truth
1 Peter 1:14: The Bible tells us that we can overcome temptation by being obedient to God (1 Peter 1:14, “As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance”). Temptation is something that we know is wrong, but our flesh wants to do it anyway. Temptation usually comes in the form of material things such as money, food, sex, and so on.
Christian Believe and Value That They are a Child of God
Romans 8:17. Many of us have very shallow beliefs, and therefore we have very shallow values. If we truly believed in something, this belief would drive our values. Values and beliefs are closely intertwined. This is particularly evident with Christian believers. The Bible tells us that Christian believers “are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God” (Romans 8:14).
Feeling Unloved Because You Are Out of Step With God
Deuteronomy 30:19. When you are having feelings of being unloved, you are in a time of transition. This could be problems with your marriage or any of your relationships. The real problem is your relationship with God. If you are feeling unloved, you are out of relationship with God.
Secret Knowledge is Truth That God Has Not Revealed to Mankind
Deuteronomy 29:29. Secret knowledge is the providence of God. Organizations that profess to have secret knowledge or truth do not line up with the world of God. God is the source of all knowledge, both revealed knowledge and secret knowledge. When God reveals secret knowledge to a person or group of people, this truth is suppose to be revealed to all of mankind.
Best Type of Government – Representative, Authoritarian, Theocracy?
1 Samuel 8:5. People can argue all day on what is the best type of government be it representative, authoritarian, or even a theocracy. A more important consideration is who should lead the Government.
Angels - The Natural and the Supernatural
Hebrews 1:14. Throughout the Bible many, many people witnessed angels. The literal definition of an angel means messenger, a messenger of God. God made angels for this purpose. Angels are different from humans. They are "ministering spirits (Hebrews 1:14,"Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?".
The Holy Spirit Encourages Us in Spiritual Warfare
Romans 8:16. When the Holy Spirit is in us there is no reason to fear no matter what the circumstances. Fear of our circumstances can inhibit us in spiritual warfare to take on the mind of Christ. The spirit of fear puts us in bondage, but the Holy Ghost reminds us and encourages us that we no longer need to be bound in fear.
Respect For Children
Colossians 3:21. God expects us to have respect for children. Parents are here to encourage children, and not provoke them (Colossians 3:21, "Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.").God gives honor to all of mankind (Psalms 8:5) to include children. We must show the same respect for all of mankind to include respect for children.
No Greater Joy Than To See A Fellow Christian Walk In the Truth of God
3 John 4. For a Christian there is no greater joy than to help someone accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. There are many joys when someone begins to walk in God's truth. The person who helped the new Christian find Jesus is joyful because he has fulfilled God's mission of saving the lost.
Gracious Uncertainty
1 John 3:2. By accepting the grace of God, we accept God's plan for us in our lives. Thanks to God's gift of salvation and our acceptance of God's grace, our relationship with God is re-established.
Child Discipline, A Parent's Responsibility
Hebrews 12:7. God approves of child discipline. It is an essential part of a parent and child relationship. Hebrews 12:7 says "...what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?" If parents do not discipline their children they are basically telling the child that they do not care about them. They are saying they do not want to train their children in what is right.
