Bible Summary. When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior we are a new man. The new man is in continual relationship with God. A new man knows God and is in constant fellowship with God. Isaiah 42:9. God is awesome because he is able to do more than just see the future, he is able to declare what the future will be. Seeing the future and declaring the future is something that only God can do. Just like when He created the world, God said, “Let there be light” and there was light (Genesis 1:3). God is all powerful, all present, and all knowing.

Summary of 1 Peter 1. Peter says hello to both strangers and to the elect. The elect being foreknown by God, sanctified of the Spirit, and obedient to Jesus Christ. Peter goes on to say that the trial of our faith is more precious than gold. This is because the faithful are able to love and believe, and will obtain the salvation of their souls.

Summary A person becomes a born again Christian when they accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. As sinners we need salvation to save us from God’s wrath toward our sin and disobedience of Him. When we are born again the spirit in us changes. God is now in us in the form of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will keep us from sin, if we let Him.

Genesis 25:26: Jacob, the father of the twelve tribes of Israel, started his life as a scam artist. The name Jacob means “heel-catcher, supplanter, cheater, defrauder, deceiver”. Jacob received his name at birth when his mother gave birth to both him and his brother Esau. Jacob's brother was the first born, but Jacob was gripping Esau's heel as he came out of the womb.

1 John 4:7. God is love. To know love is to know God. God is the source of all, true love. God's love is called agape love. Agape means unmerited favor. This is the love that God has given to us through Jesus Christ. Though we are sinners and disobedient to God, God still loves us. God reveals His unmerited favor (love) toward us by offering us eternal life through His Son, Jesus Christ.

For us that are born again Jesus Christ is not only our Savior, but also our Lord. Through Jesus we are fully equipped to be obedient to God and take on the mind of Christ. We only need to have faith in Jesus Christ. Christ is our example of how we relate and totally surrender to God. As we grow in our Christianity, Christ is formed in us.

1 John 3:9. When you are born again, you have God in you in the form of the Holy Spirit. As God cannot be in the presence of sin and disobedience, sin is destroyed in you when the Holy Spirit is in you. As a born again Christian, you have God’s seed in you that provides every thing you need not to sin any more. For you to remain born again, you commit no more sin in your life.

John 3:6. When you are born again the spirit in you changes. Before becoming a born again Christian your flesh led the spirit in you. You were dominated by fleshly desires and your purpose was to fulfill the lusts of your flesh. When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, God’s Holy Spirit enters you changing your purpose and equipping you to be righteous.

1 Peter 1:23. A born again Christian is born of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. When we first accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, God’s Holy Spirit enters us. When we are born again we now have God’s incorruptible seed in us.

1 Peter 1:23. The definition of Christian redemption includes being born again. Jesus paid the ransom and took on the punishment for our sin so that we can be saved. But we still have to accept this free gift that Jesus gave to us. We have to believe in Him and accept Him as our Lord and Savior.
