Nature vs Nurture Debate – Vain Imagination Lacking the Knowledge of God
Romans 1:21. The nature vs nurture debate is based on vain imagination lacking the knowledge of God. Now why do I say this? Many great scholars have studied this argument, but did they consider the all-powerful nature of God as a factor in influencing the nature of a person? If you make the argument that it is just in someone's nature to be a thief or a murderer, this argument implies that God is not all-powerful. If you take the argument that a person is nurtured by their environment to be a homosexual or habitual liar, again, how can God be all-powerful and this argument be true? God can intervene in any circumstances. The problem with getting caught up in the nature vs nurture debate is that you can leave God out of the argument. He is the one that is in control, not our imagination. God's knowledge and truth is what we should be relying on in regard to the direction and nature of mankind. We should not rely on our vain imagination to come up with endless arguments that leave God out of the equation ( Romans 1:21, “Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened”.
BIBLE SCRIPTURE Romans 1:21, “Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.”
