Vengeful Anger is Reserved For God Only

Romans 12:19. Anger is a human emotion as well as a godly emotion. The Bible is full of examples where God became angry. There is one type of anger that is reserved for God. That is anger based on vengeance. The Bible tells us to not be vengeful in our anger.

Bible Summary. If we have religious values based on the teachings of Jesus Christ, we can be free from sin and death. If we have religious values that are spiritually-minded such as truth, goodness, and love, we will have a life of peace and joy. If we hold our fleshly desires in higher regard, we do not value God and are not in right standing with Him.

Overcoming Temptation by Yielding to God

Romans 6:13. Overcoming temptation is a spiritual battle. It is easy to believe that if we are tempted that we will sin. This is not true. God will not put us in a position where we have no choice but to sin. Now temptation can come from about anything to include a member of the opposite sex, money, drugs, food, alcohol, possessions that we do not have, and so on.

Judging Others Will Lead People Away From God

Romans 14:13. When we become knowledgeable of the Word of God, it is easy to fall into the trap of judging others for their shortcomings. Why is it wrong for us to judge others?

Resolve Conflict by Being Honest with People

Romans 13:13. Just being honest with people prevents or resolves most conflicts between people. Being honest is a wonderful thing. Honesty shines a light on what is not fair, what is not upright, what will not “stand the light of day”. I do not hear the word honest or honorable much when someone describes themselves or others.

Christian Beliefs and Good Values Enable Us to be More Than Conquerors

Romans 8:37. Christians because of their beliefs and values can be more than conquerors in this world. Through Jesus Christ, Christians can transcend the day-to-day conflict of good versus bad, right versus wrong, and even death versus life. All that is needed is for us to believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord.

Christian Believe and Value That They are a Child of God

Romans 8:17. Many of us have very shallow beliefs, and therefore we have very shallow values. If we truly believed in something, this belief would drive our values. Values and beliefs are closely intertwined. This is particularly evident with Christian believers. The Bible tells us that Christian believers “are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God” (Romans 8:14).

If You Have Good Values, All Things Work Together For Good

Romans 8:28. Good values lead to good things. From a Christian perspective, what we value comes from God. This is God's purpose in our lives. If we fulfill God's purpose in our lives, He will take care of us. Godly values are of God and are God. God is love. God is good. God is truth. God is righteous and so on.

Righteousness, A Religious Value That Results in Eternal Life

Romans 8:10. Righteousness is a religious value we should all aspire to because it will bring us eternal life with God. From a Christian perspective, righteousness means to be in right standing with God. Because we are all born in sin (disobedience to God), the only way we can be in right standing with God is through Jesus.

Your Religious Values Determine Your Future

Romans 8:6. According to the Bible your religious values determine your future in life and in the hereafter. If you have religious values that are spiritually-minded such as truth, goodness, and love, you will have a life of peace and joy. This is what Jesus teaches us if we will believe Him. These are the things of the Spirit and of God.

Religious Values Based on Jesus Can Free Us From Sin and Death

Romans 8:2. If we have religious values based on the teachings of Jesus Christ, we can be free from sin and death. We can escape death, the consequence of sin, and have eternal life. All we need to do is accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

Hope, A Christian Value

Romans 8:24. Hope is a core Christian value. Hope is defined as “to believe, desire, or trust”. A Christian's hope is to believe the promises of Jesus Christ that He can redeem mankind and give us eternal life. All we have to do is accept His offer for Him to be our Lord and Savior.

Love is the Fulfillment of God's Will

Romans 13:10. Love is a characteristic that God desires everyone to possess. The love that God desires for us is a special type of love called “agape” love. Agape love is defined as unmerited favor. This is a love that we show to others even if they do not deserve our loving kindness.

Brotherly Kindness Comes With Honoring Others Before Ourselves

Romans 12:10. God desires for us to treat everyone with brotherly kindness and love. This includes both Christians (brethren) and non-Christians. Romans 12:10 says, “Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;”. We are to honor other Christians more than we honor ourselves.
