How To Trust - Trust God and Do Not Rely Totally on Yourself
Psalms 62:10. The Bible gives us guidance on how to trust ourselves. The short answer is we need to trust God at all times and to be wary of relying too much on ourselves. The Bible tells us in Psalms 62:8, "Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah". Psalms 62:9 goes on to say that no matter what level of intelligence or skills we have, we as humans are about useless in obtaining our life's goals without God. God created us for a purpose and He is the only one that can guide us and enable us fulfill our purpose in life. By ourselves, we can so easily lose our purpose. We can so easily get caught up in our own lies (Psalms 62:9, "Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity"). Many of us think we can go our own way and trust in our own skills. What we are really doing is separating ourselves from God. For the people that have gotten ahead in this world without God, are they happy and what is their destiny. Did they succeed by oppressing people? Did they succeed by cheating people? If they have obtained riches without God blessing, what does the future hold for them ( Psalms 62:10, "Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them")?
