Bible Says For You To Love and Trust Your Wife
Proverbs 31:11. According to the Bible the marriage relationship is the only human relationship where you should both trust and love one another. Proverbs 31:11 says, "The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil". The Bible teach us to love one another, but only in Proverbs 31:11 does the Bible tell us to trust someone other than God. On reflection, it makes sense that we should love (have unmerited favor) other people, but not trust them. Most of us have good intentions in regard to our promises and we all would like to trust the promises made to us, but only God can fulfill all of His promises. We humans fall short so we cannot really be absolutely trusted. Now, with the special relationship that God has for the marriage relationship, it does make sense that we should make an exception and trust our spouse. When we marry we become one flesh. To act as one and to assure the integrity of the relationship, marriage partners need to trust each other.
