Definition Of Greed - Wants Everything For Free
Proverbs 21:25. The definition of greed includes slothfulness. All day long a slothful person will greedily crave for the things that they desire, but they will not work for it. Their desires may only be for the basics of life, but they will not work for it (Proverbs 21:25, "The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour. He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.") A slothful, greedy person kills himself by his lack of a work ethic. A slothful person will avoid work even if it is for his basic needs. He will scheme to sustain himself at the expense of other people and even his own future. He will seek "free money" to get by for another day. He will quickly take out high interest loans that he will not pay back. He will play the lottery instead of paying a bill. He will lose his reputation by borrowing money and things from friends and family, and never paying them back. He will burden society by staying on welfare with no intention of finding work or becoming employable.
