Christian Definition of Brethren
Matthew 12:50. Matthew 12:50 spells out the Christian definition of brethren. It says, “For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother”. You are a Christian brethren if you voluntarily do the will of God. The Bible teaches us that God's will is for us is to freely accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. With accepting salvation through Jesus Christ, God's will is for all of mankind to receive eternal life and be in fellowship with Him forever. With acknowledging Jesus as our Lord, God's will is for us to freely and lovingly obey the teachings of Jesus Christ. Only through Jesus and the Holy Spirit, God gives Christian brethren the means to be obedient to God's will and not revert back to sin and disobedience.
