A Passion For Christ Comes When We Believe in His Resurrection
Mark 16:4. A passion for Christ comes from knowing in your heart that Jesus defeated death and is alive today forever. Coming into the reality that Jesus (God in the flesh) defeated death on the cross and was resurrected is the essence of having a passion for Christ.
Many people are life-long, faithful members of their church yet they have no passion for Jesus. This lack of passion comes from a harden heart and lackadaisical view of the resurrected Jesus. If you are dispassionate Christian, you are not alone. Even Jesus' disciples had a hardness of heart concerning the resurrection of Jesus. Mark 16:14 says, “Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.” It was not until the disciples had a direct encounter with the resurrected Jesus that they were moved and believed in the resurrection of Jesus.
Believing in the resurrected Christ is the essence of having a passion for Christ. The world changed once the disciples came into the reality of the resurrected Jesus and had received the Holy Spirit. Their new passion changed the world. Every day they could now preach Christ in word and deed. Through their passion they went about their Father's business and changed the world.
MARK 16 BIBLE SCRIPTURE Mark 16:14, “Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.”
