Acting On Your Insatiable Desire Makes God Angry

Joshua 7:1. When Israel had taken Jericho and Achan acted on his insatiable desire and took the gold and silver from Jericho, God's anger was raised against the entire camp of Israel. When Achan could not control his insatiable desire, he offended God. He had caused all of Israel to have a breach of faith with God (Joshua 7:1, "But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against the children of Israel").. He had broken God's commandments and had taken an "accursed thing", the garments, the gold, and silver. God had devoted these things to destruction, but Achan had taken these accursed things for his own use. God gets extremely angry with us when we covet something that is not ours (Isaiah 57:17, "For the iniquity of his covetousness was I wroth, and smote him: I hid me, and was wroth, and he went on frowardly in the way of his heart").

BIBLE SCRIPTURE: Joshua 7:1, "But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against the children of Israel."
