James 1:20. The Bible tells us that when anger overcomes us, we have lost touch with God. James 1:20 says, “For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.” Anger is not an end in itself. When we let anger control us, we are no longer honoring God first in our lives.

James 4:8. How can you have a passion for Jesus unless this passion consumes you?

James 1:13.Christian temptation comes in many forms, but God is never the source of our temptation. Christian temptation is where we know it is wrong to do something, but we are enticed to do it any way. If we entertain temptation, we will start coming up with excuses to yield to the temptation. These excuses become are defense and our justification when we do actually sin.

James 1:14. The prime example of human weakness is the lust that is inside ourselves. The basic definition of lust is having a self-absorbed desire for an object, person, or experience. Lust tempts every person. No one is immune from the thoughts of lust. Lust weaken us because it draws us away from God.

James 4:12. The Bible tells us to judge not lest you be judge. This is because God, our Creator, is the ultimate authority in our lives. God is who determines what is right and what is wrong. Whether we know it or not, God will ultimately judge us. He will not judge us on what we do on the outside. He will judge us by our insides - our heart, our compassion, our faith.

James 3:16. As Christians we can resolve conflict by focusing on God's truth and not man's wisdom. The Bible tells us in James 3:14 that where bitter envy and strife our present, God's truth is not present. Another way to say this is that you can resolve conflict by getting everyone to focus on God's truth. If God was present (which He is), what would we do?

Victory in spiritual warfare comes from us submitting to God. If we totally surrender to God and put our faith in Him, we will have the spiritual power to resist the devil. We only have to resist the devil to defeat him. Once the devil sees that his craftiness and lies have no effect on us, he will flee from us (James 4:7, "Submit yourselves therefore to God.

James 4:7. God has given us the power and self-control to resist the devil and his temptations. All we have to do is exercise that self-control when fixing a broken relationship with God. If we resist the devil, He will flee from us. The only self-control we really need to fight temptation is the self-control to submit to God everyday. If we draw close to God, He will draw close to us.

James 1:12. Keeping a relationship with God is more than addressing the past sins in our lives. Fixing a broken relationship with God also means avoiding sin every day. Temptation is with us everyday, but God desires for us to avoid sin. We prove our love of God when we endure temptation.

James 3:14. How can you fix a bad relationship when envy is in your heart?

James 1:15. Cain made a lot of bad choices in being disobedience to God and hating his brother. Having the sin nature of his father Adam, Cain's tendency was to be disobedient to God. This was evident by the unworthy offering he brought to God, his refusal to obey God's counsel, and his hatred of his brother that resulted in Abel's death.
