Summary of James 2. Your life of faith should be consistent and have no respect of person, rich or poor. Treat everyone in love. You are in sin when you treat some people better than others. You are guilty and a transgressor of the law when you commit any sin. You can say you are of the faith, but faith is dead without good works.

Summary of James 1. James, the author of the book of James, tells us that temptation tries our faith and works patience. If we lack wisdom, ask God. Do not be double-minded. Blessed is the man that endures temptation. It is not God that tempts us, but our own lusts that brings forth sin and eventually death. Do not err and be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to wrath.

James 1:13.Christian temptation comes in many forms, but God is never the source of our temptation. Christian temptation is where we know it is wrong to do something, but we are enticed to do it any way. If we entertain temptation, we will start coming up with excuses to yield to the temptation. These excuses become are defense and our justification when we do actually sin.

James 3:16. As Christians we can resolve conflict by focusing on God's truth and not man's wisdom. The Bible tells us in James 3:14 that where bitter envy and strife our present, God's truth is not present. Another way to say this is that you can resolve conflict by getting everyone to focus on God's truth. If God was present (which He is), what would we do?

Victory in spiritual warfare comes from us submitting to God. If we totally surrender to God and put our faith in Him, we will have the spiritual power to resist the devil. We only have to resist the devil to defeat him. Once the devil sees that his craftiness and lies have no effect on us, he will flee from us (James 4:7, "Submit yourselves therefore to God.
