Ezekiel
Lazy People are Prideful People
Ezekiel 16:49. The Bible tells us that prideful people are lazy people. In Ezekiel 16:49, God says, “Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.” Here God is talking about the city of Sodom.
God Can Shame You to Bring You into a Place of Honor With Him
Ezekiel 39:26. Sometime God uses shame to chastise us in order for us to come into a place of honor with Him. It is amazing that every time we drift from God, He will find a way to chastise us to do right. This chastisement may come in the form of physical afflictions or emotional distress.
Definition of Perfection - Perfection is Without Sin
Ezekiel 28:15. The definition of perfection means "lacking nothing essential to the whole; complete of its nature or kind". From a Christian perspective, the definition of perfection means being without sin. The Bible tells us that sin in its most basic form is being disobedient to God.
Selfish Acts Reproduce More Selfish Acts
Ezekiel 16:15. Selfishness is infectious. If one person is selfish and prideful, it is likely that they will incite others to be prideful and selfish. If one person boasts, another will be compelled to boast and tell tall tales. If one person is selfish, he will then entice others to follow his path. This is like what happens with the drug addicts.
The Resurrection Spirit Is Powerful
Ezekiel 37:9. The spirit of the resurrection is a powerful force. No other force can bring something that is dead to life. Only God can restore life from something that is dead. This makes the spirit of the resurrection the most powerful force in the world. God wants us to know that He is all powerful and this powerful resurrection spirit comes from Him.
