Help Me, Do Not Steal From Me
Ephesians 4:28. It is in our human nature to exploit people rather than help them. When someone says help me or they are seen in a vulnerable position, our sin nature sees this as a sign of weakness to be exploited. We steal office supplies from our employer. We cut in line. We borrow money and do not pay it back. We take welfare by overstating our needs. We sell people things they do not need. We overcharge people for things that they do need.
Jesus offers us an alternative way to live. His way enables us to steal no more and give to people that are in need. God has blessed us with abundant resources, and He desires for us to give justly as He has given to us (Ephesians 4:28, "Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.")
EPHISIANS 4 BIBLE SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 4:28, "Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth."
