Colossians 3:2. Many of us have feelings of emptiness and have no passion for life. What is missing is that God is not in our lives. It is not that God does not love us that He is missing in our lives. God does love us and He created us for a purpose to have a relationship with Him.

Matthew 6:21. Finding your passion in life is not hard. The hard thing about finding your passion is that when you find it you may not like it. Matthew 6:21 advises us about how to find our passion. It says, “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

Colossians 3:12. Jesus showed us how to have Christian patience while He was on this Earth. Instead of us getting impatience with others, Jesus teaches us to forgive others just as He has forgiven us.

Colossians 3:17. Many of us seek self-control, but Jesus is the only true way to self-control. He is the only human that has walked on this Earth and was perfect. He had perfect self-control. He had no sin in Him. He was perfect and had no sin in Him because besides being human He was God walking on this Earth. He came here to save us from our sin and from being out of the will of God.

Colossians 3:10. Everyday a born again Christian must take on the mind of Christ and surrender completely to God. Everyday he uses the Bible and Jesus’ example to become more like Christ.

Colossians 3:21. God expects us to have respect for children. Parents are here to encourage children, and not provoke them (Colossians 3:21, "Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.").God gives honor to all of mankind (Psalms 8:5) to include children. We must show the same respect for all of mankind to include respect for children.

Colossians 3:5. The definition of lust includes idolizing anything above God. When you commit sex out of marriage, you are in lust. You are putting the sex act above God. When you are willing to do anything for a new car, you are in lust. You are putting the car above God. When you hate or envy someone because they have more money than you, you are in lust.

Colossians 3:9. Lying and keeping secrets from one another are causes for a bad relationship. When we lie or keep secrets from one another this causes strife. Little lies and secrets may seem to spice up a marriage or relationship, but over time anger, bad feelings, and strife develops. As Christians we are charged with spreading God’s truth at all times.
