The Power of the Holy Spirit Can Move Us Physically
Acts 8:339. The Holy Spirit has the power to physically move people great distances. In Acts 8:39 the Holy Spirit transported Philip many miles after Philip had ministered to the eunuch (Acts 8:39, “And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing”).
Threats Against Us or Our Livelihood Is a Cause of Anger
Acts 19:28. One cause of anger is when someone threatens our livelihood. A good example of this was when Paul threatened the livelihood of the idol makers in Ephesus. A idol maker whose name was Demetrius stirred up his fellow workers again Paul. In Acts 29:26-27 Demetrius told his fellow workers that “...
Biblical Advice and Commentary on Acts 2
Summary of Acts 2. On the day of Pentecost, 120 of Jesus' closest followers were filled with the Holy Ghost and began speaking tongues. Many visitors to Jerusalem heard the Christian speaking in the tongues of many nations. Some of the Jews mocked them saying that the Christians were drunk.
Honored to Suffer Shame in Jesus' Name
Acts 5:41. Christians should think of it as an honor to be criticize, ridiculed, and shamed for speaking the gospel of Jesus Christ. Christians are not here to confront or condemn people, but we are here to speak the truth. Many people do not want to hear the truth because then they would have to change their ways. Their reaction to the Christian gospel is one of hate.
Ministering to the World Without Being Of the World
Paul's ministry in Athens illustrates how to minister the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world but not be of the world. Paul arrived in Athens, a city of great learning. The citizens of this city knew many things, but they did not know Christ. Paul began to experience their culture, but he continued to value God above anything that he experienced or learned in Athens.
Miracles - The Supernatural In The Natural World
Acts 4:16. The natural and supernatural both exist in our lives. We cannot deny it. It is important to see the supernatural that is in our lives. If we deceive ourselves that there is no supernatural power, we are basically denying that there is a God.
Alms Giving is an Acknowledgement of God
Acts 10:2. It is so easy for us to get caught up in our day-to-day activities and forget God. This is not how God desires for us to live. He desires us to acknowledge Him in all things. This can be done through prayer and meditation, but it is also done through our alms giving.
Alms Giving is an Act of Good Works That Illuminates You Love of God and People
Acts 9:34. Christians should be known for their good works and alms giving just as Jesus is known for his good works. Our Christian reputation should not be motivated by pride, but our good works should illuminate to a sinful world God’s truth and goodness.
Through Spiritual Warfare All Can Be Healed
Acts 10:38. The Holy Ghost gives us the power to heal. When the Holy Ghost is in us we have God in us. His power can be used in spiritual warfare to heal people. People that are in need of physical healing are oppressed by the devil or other spiritual power. Through our sinful and imperfect nature the devil can oppress us with every know disease and infirmity.
The Power Of Belief Turns Us Away From The Power Of Darkness
Acts 26:18. It is natural for us to turn toward the light if our eyes are open, but many of us when it comes to God keep our eyes closed. This is what happens to many non-believers that continue in sin. They are not willing to open their eyes to the light of God and they stay within the power of Satan.
No Greater Joy Than To Testify The Truth Of God
Acts 20:24. Another joy to being a Christian is the opportunity to testify the truth of God. It is the greatest joy when you are able to deliver God's word to another. Testifying of God's word is not just for preachers, but for any Christian. Anytime we can share God's truth with another human being, it is a joyous experience.
Help Me With Spiritual Needs
Acts 3:6. Many people will say help me with their physical needs, but their spiritual needs are greater. When helping people, we need to make sure to take any opportunity we can to minister to their spiritual needs. There may be some times when we cannot help someone with their physical needs, but we can help them with their spiritual needs.
Help Me When I Am Weak

A Good Conscience Must Be Lived
Acts 23:1. It is correct to say that someone is in good conscience if they live up to their conscience's standards. Paul said that he was in good conscience even before he became a Christian believer. (Acts 23:1, "And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.").
