2 Kings 5:11. It is in our human nature to come up with good excuses not to obey God. One of the most subtle excuses we can give when God calls us is to say that “this is not God's way”. The Bible has many examples where people resisted God's calling because they had preconceived ideas about God.

2 Kings 17:4. We have to believe all of God's word not just some of it. What many of us do is selectively believe part of God's word. It is easy to believe that God is a god of love and that He is a provider. What is not easy to accept is that God is a righteous God. In His righteousness He cannot tolerate things that are not of Him.

2 Kings 17:15. If the purpose of a relationship is based on self-centeredness, this is a sign of a bad relationship. An example of this is where the pretty girl hangs out with the ugly girl. In a lot of cases, the pretty girl is in the relationship to be adored and to even look prettier. The ugly girl is there because of envy in the hopes that some of the prettiness might rub off on her.
