Summary of 2 Corinthians 6. Paul pleads with the Corinthians to act beyond reproach no matter what the situation. They are not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers. As Christians they are temples of the living God. God dwells in them. Paul pleads with the Corinthians to not have fellowship with the ungodly. God will be the Father, and they will be His daughters and sons.

How To Have Self-Control – Focus on The Mind, Not Your Habit

2 Corinthians 10:4. If we are looking for how to have self-control in our lives, most quick-fix plans focus on breaking our habits. Examples of quick-fix plans include smoking patches, diet pills, seminars, and so on. These quick-fix plans focus on our habits, when the real problem is in our mind and thoughts. The Bible teaches us that the real battle for self-control is in our mind.

Knowledge of God – Jesus Christ Shining Into Our Heart

2 Corinthians 4:6. The knowledge of God is offered to all of us in the form of Jesus Christ. This new knowledge of God, this mystery, is Jesus Christ who has brought mankind salvation and eternal life . Just as God commanded the light to shine out of the darkness when He created the world; and now God has sent His son as the light of knowledge to the world.

Definition of Perfection - Mankind Can Be Perfect in God

2 Corinthians 7:1. The definition of perfection includes "completely suited for a particular purpose - completely corresponding to a description, standard, or type". From a Christian perspective, this definition of perfection means that perfection is all about us being holy. God has made us for His purpose to be holy and worship Him.

The Evidence Of the Supernatural

2 Corinthians 4:18. The supernatural (the not seen) of this world is evident by miracles and unexplained phenomenon. Many miracles can be explained away, but much of it cannot. The actual creation of this world was a miracle not explained by natural phenomenon (the seen). Even for those that believe in evolution, they cannot provide a reasonable account of how life and matter got started.

Sowing and Reaping – You Get What You Give

2 Corinthians 9:6. God favors a cheerful giver. Just as He loves and gives to us, He expects us to do the same for others. God has made His creation where if you sow you will reap. This is how you really create success in this world. Sowing and reaping applies to all aspects of our lives to include our day-to-day relationships.

Continuing Grace comes from us being weak so that the power of Christ Can Rest in Us

2 Corinthians 12:9. God’s grace comes to us on His terms. We cannot bargain with Him and our flesh will at many times be at odds with God’s purpose in our lives. To receive God’s continuing grace we can only surrender completely to our Lord Jesus Christ. We can ask God for mercy, but He will not always take away our infirmities.

A Born Again Christian is a New Man In Christ

2 Corinthians 5:17. To be a born again Christian you need to have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior. When you are in Jesus you are a new creature. You are no longer a slave of sin doing things the way you have done things in the past. With Christ, you now do things that conform to His lordship and you are no longer controlled by your sin nature.

Our Body Reflects Our Holy Nature

2 Corinthians 5:10. If we follow common practice and our own desires without the love of God, we neglect our body. Our body reflects our love of God. Our bodies can either be a vessel that honors God or a vessel that satisfies the things that are not of God. Our body cannot be a temple of God and a vessel of unbridled sin.

Forgive as God Forgives

Jesus forgives all of us that repents of their sin. God expects us to forgive people as He forgave us (2 Corinthians 2:10, “To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ; “).

Deal With Adultery by Repenting of Your Sin

2 Corinthians 12:21.If you have committed adultery and really want to deal with it, you need to repent of your sin. Dealing with adultery is not hard, but you have to be willing to change. Thanks to Jesus Christ, He will take the punishment for all of our sins. All that is required of us is to repent with our heart.

Christian Spiritual Warfare: Put on the Mind of Christ Versus Following Our Imagination

2 Corinthians 10:5. In warfare, military objectives usually focus on the destruction of an enemy or the gaining of a territory. The objective of Christian spiritual warfare is territorial in nature. The territory in this case is the human mind.
