Biblical Advice and Commentary on 1st Peter 4

Summary of 1 Peter 4. Peter tells us that who suffers in the flesh has ceased from sin. We are separated from the Gentiles who walk in sin and will be judged by God. The gospel is preached to all that they may be judged accordingly. We must love one another as love covers a multitude of sins. Love is not to be given grudgingly. God has given us all gifts that we must use as good stewards.

Summary of 1 Peter 1. Peter says hello to both strangers and to the elect. The elect being foreknown by God, sanctified of the Spirit, and obedient to Jesus Christ. Peter goes on to say that the trial of our faith is more precious than gold. This is because the faithful are able to love and believe, and will obtain the salvation of their souls.

Biblical Advice and Commentary on 1st Peter 2

Summary of 1 Peter 2. 1 Peter 2 tells us that we are no longer newborn babes, but living stones that make up a spiritual house. Jesus is the chief cornerstone, precious to believers and a stumbling block to non-believers. Peter tells us that we "... are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people ...".
